Felted Wearable Art Wrap

Hi Everyone!

It's felting season and this is my latest felted silk scarf. First I wet felted fibers into a skinny scarf using fleece, yarns, silk bits and other fibers, sandwiched between fusible webbing. After needlepunching it using my Babylock Embellisher, I placed the scarf in water to remove the webbing.  Voila -- it disappears!

After drying, it was nunofelted with a sheer chiffon aqua scarf, then dried in the sun.

This scarf is instantly warm, light and very flowy. Scarf measures 66" long by 16" wide. Definitely a conversation piece. Everyone will say to you: "Where did you get that?"

Announcing Global Knits

Well, after thinking it over again and again, I decided it was time to go global, so I changed my Etsy shop name from PA Fiberartist to Global Knits. It was time to change the name to something new and current -- and Global Knits kept popping into my head.

There will be a new shop banner ordered today from a photographer on Etsy based in Poland named Bialakura and it will be uploaded to the shop hopefully in the next few days. I hope you like the new name, banner, and continue to visit my Etsy shop!

Here is my latest felted scarf. It was nunofelted combining a Thai silk blue scarf, blue and purple fleece, and silk pieces onto a black, very soft, prefelted background. I then needlepunched the entire scarf with my Babylock Embellisher. There is an added kilt pin with strips of hand-dyed silk ribbon and scrim (hand-dyed in England).

It's very soft and comfortable. Definitely, wearable art!

Nunofelting Again

This scarf is called Monet's Garden. It's made with silk chiffon and dyed merino sheep fleece.

Here's a mocha, cocoa, creme brulee, toffee with hints of root beer silk wide scarf with similar merino fleece pieces felted into the silk threads.

This is a mauve sheer silk chiffon scarf with aubergine and moss green fleece meandering throughout. It's light and warm!
